Ethics & Accountability in Public Procurement
The Miami-Dade County Commission on Ethics and Public Trust and Florida Atlantic University will sponsor a one day conference "Ethics & Accountability in Public Procurement” Friday, MARCH 14, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the North Miami Beach Performing Arts Theater -- 17011 N.E. 19th Avenue, North Miami Beach, FL  33162.  To register see  and program.

2008 Ethics Training for Miami-Dade County Advisory Boards

Whistleblower Workshops
Beginning in October 2007, the Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics and Public Trust will offer workshops on whistleblowing and retaliation. These workshops will provide essential information to county officials and personnel concerning the amendments to the county whistleblowing ordinance that establish additional safeguards for employees willing to report serious acts of official misconduct. Topics to be covered will include the newly instituted procedures for those who believe they have suffered retaliation after filing a whistleblower complaint.

Initially, sessions will be held in downtown Miami at the offices of the Ethics Commission (19 West Flagler, Suite 820) and are listed as follows:

Section 8 Housing
All Miami-Dade County employees, except those who are employed by the Miami-Dade County Housing Agency, may rent houses to tenants using  Section 8 housing vouchers .


Model Student Ethics Program in Miami-Dade County Public Schools
The Ethics Commission is happy to announce that, with the support and collaboration of the Alternative Education Division of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools and the “Do The Right Thing Program,” its Model Student Ethics Program will be offered officially at select elementary, middle and high schools beginning in spring 2008.
