NFL/YET Center at Gwen Cherry Park
Named after the first African-American woman elected to the Florida Legislature, the late Mrs. Gwendolyn Cherry, the park has been serving the Liberty City community for decades. Its 38.5 acres hold three lighted multi-purpose athletic fields, two lighted basketball courts, a picnic area, a lighted 400-meter-running track, a lighted baseball diamond, a lighted softball diamond, a pool, an amphitheater, a tot-lot and a recreation center. Gwen Cherry Park is also the home of the NFL Youth Educational Town (Y.E.T.) Center.
In 1999 the park was used as one of the film locations for the motion picture "Random Hearts" and more recently the NFL Yet Center was used as a location for a McDonalds commercial.
