South Dade Agriculture The rural farming areas of Miami-Dade County are located in South Dade and are comprised of the Redland, Homestead and Florida City. The Redland features many farms and nurseries, and the area serves as a major source of winter vegetables and tropical fruits. Homestead is considered the hub of the county's agricultural industry. And the State Farmers Market is located in Florida City. The Farmer's Market is open to wholesale business only, but there is a small set of bays open to the public, located directly behind the Farmer's Market Restaurant.
