Cinevisun Participates In The 48 Hour Film Festival And In Design Within Reach…
Cinevisun recently took part in two film events in Miami for established and beginning filmmakers alike. The 48 hour film festival co-sponsored by Cinevisun is held in over 70 cities across the world. Contestants at any level of filmmaking can enter and are charged to complete a short film on a given theme in 48 hours. Forty seven teams entered the festival. The kick off event was held on August 1st at “The News” restaurant and lounge and was judged at the Byron Carlysle Theater in Miami Beach on August 6th and 7th. A follow up event is planned for the end of the month.
48 Hour

Cinevisun Executive Director Kevin Sharpley says this about the festival “The 48 hour film festival is an example of the depth of talent and the need to provide opportunities for aspiring filmmakers in South Florida. The festival was well executed by producer Fabrizio Wichert Silva and gave filmmakers a prime opportunity to have their work showcased on the silver screen.”

In addition Cinevisun hosted an incredible event at Design Within Reach in Coral Gables. The event highlighted local filmmakers Romina Rey and Alexa Caravia in a laid back setting that allowed the artists to field questions and interact with the audience. The intimate setting gave the attendees opportunities to network with film industry professionals and others while listening to the sounds of deejay Heather Holiday.

Cinevisun co-chair Andy Schefter stated, "Cinevisun hopes to be the hub of the spokes in the Miami film community. We would like to be a central point of information for people in our industry, bringing together filmmakers, film crews, vendors, unions, film commissions and other film organization and events, similar to the IFP in N.Y.C. and Film Independent in L.A.”
