Patient Privacy Practices

As an essential part of our commitment to excellence, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) maintains the privacy of our patients' health care information, known as Protected Health Information (PHI). Effective April 14, 2003, we are required by law to protect the confidentiality of PHI and to provide all patients with a notice of our privacy practices.

MDFR's Notice of Privacy Practices outlines our legal duties with respect to your PHI and describes our privacy practices in detail. This notice also explains how MDFR is permitted to use and disclose PHI about you, how you can access and copy that information, make amendments and request restrictions on our use and disclosure of your PHI.

MDFR respects patient privacy, and our entire staff is committed to handling all health care information in compliance with all federal laws regarding medical privacy.

For information about obtaining copies of a medical incident report, visit our Incidents Reports & Billing page.

For more information, please read our Patient Privacy Notice, which is provided to each patient treated by MDFR.

If you have any questions, please contact our Department Privacy Liaison at 786-331-4950.
