Miami-Dade Fire Rescue inspectors conduct fireworks sweep ahead of Independence Day

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

In order to ensure public safety ahead of Independence Day celebrations, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) inspectors will conduct fireworks inspections where fireworks are sold throughout Miami-Dade County to make sure that vendors are properly certified by the state and are selling only legal fireworks.

Several teams of MDFR inspectors, each consisting of two Fire Safety Specialists, will be visiting various fireworks locations, including 15718 SW 56th Street and will be available to talk about the potential dangers people face when being exposed to illegal fireworks or when handling legal fireworks without proper instruction or adult supervision.

Media Note:

Interviews will be available in English and Spanish.

Please confirm attendance by email along with the names of crew members who will be attending the Fireworks Inspection Sweep to [email protected].
