Community Engagement

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations.

Communities Organized to Respond in Emergencies (C.O.R.E)

Faith based organizations and community organizations are recruited and trained on working together to meet long-term needs of a community impacted by a disaster.

Business Recovery

Businesses are trained how to be disaster resilient and exchange information with the county regarding pre and post disaster operations.

Community Support

Organizations planning preparedness events can request speakers or preparedness materials from Miami-Dade Emergency Management.  Requests have to be made within a month in advance and anticipated attendee size need to be included in request information for consideration.  Contact 311 or [email protected] to place a request and find out more information request eligibility.
