REPORT:	Assistant County Attorney Christian read the foregoing proposed resolution into the record. Assistant County Manager Susanne Torriente read an amendment to the foregoing proposed resolution to read as follows: “…not to exceed $25,000…” instead of $13,000. Commissioner Diaz pointed out the significance of this resolution now that the golf tournament was worldwide and that it would provide revenue and prestige to the County. There being no further discussion regarding this matter, the Committee forwarded the foregoing proposed ordinance to the BCC with a favorable recommendation as amended to reflect $25,000 as the amount Not-To-Exceed, rather than $13,101.38.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING IN-KIND SERVICES FROM THE MIAMI-DADE FIRE RESCUE DEPARTMENT FOR THE MARCH 20-25, 2007 WORLD GOLF CHAMPIONS - CA CHAMPIONSHIP SPONSORED BY THE SOUTH FLORIDA GOLF FOUNDATION, INC., A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000.00 TO BE FUNDED FROM THE NON-AD VALOREM PORTION OF THE FIRE RESCUE DISTRICT BUDGET

WHEREAS, the South Florida Golf Foundation, Inc. has requested in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department for the March 20-25, 2007 World Golf Champions � CA Championship in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00 (see attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application); and
WHEREAS, the South Florida Golf Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization; and
WHEREAS, the World Golf Champions � CA Championship is a special event, as that term is defined on the attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application, and the purpose of the event is to raise money for the 1st Tee Chapter of Miami-Dade and other local Florida charities; and
WHEREAS, the in-kind services shall be funded from the non-ad valorem portion of the Fire Rescue District Budget,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board authorizes in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department for the March 20-25, 2007 World Golf Champions � CA Championship in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00 to be funded from the non-ad valorem portion of the Fire Rescue District Budget.
