TITLE
RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE CHARTER REVIEW TASK FORCE TO REVIEW WHETHER THE PROPERTY APPRAISER, TAX COLLECTOR, SHERIFF AND SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS SHALL BE ELECTED POSITIONS SUBJECT TO RECALL BY THE VOTERS

BODY
WHEREAS, the positions of County Property Appraiser, Tax Collector, Sheriff (Public Safety Director), and Supervisor of Elections are important positions to the functioning of the County; and
WHEREAS, the question of whether these positions should become elected positions is a matter of great public concern, which is deserving of further study and public input; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to County Resolution No. R-_______, the Board of County Commissioners created a Charter Review Task Force on __________, 2007 and charged this Task Force with making recommendations to the County Commission as to appropriate Home Rule Charter amendments on or before ____________,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA that the Charter Review Task Force is directed to review and recommend in its report to the County Commission whether the Miami-Dade County Home Rule Charter shall be amended to provide that the Property Appraiser, Tax Collector, Sheriff and the Supervisor of Elections will be elected positions, subject to recall by the voters of Miami-Dade County.
