REPORT:	Assistant County Attorney Valda Christian read the foregoing proposed resolution into the record. The Committee proceeded to vote on the foregoing proposed resolution as presented. Chairman Moss questioned whether the scheduled championship, as printed within the proposed resolution, would be televised on NBC on Sunday, March 25th. Commissioner Diaz, sponsor of the foregoing proposed resolution, stated the World Golf Championship would be televised. Commissioner Heyman asked Assistant County Manager Mae Bryant to provide at the next Committee meeting scheduled for April 12, 2007, a report of the current balance for the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund.

TITLE
RESOLUTION RETROACTIVELY AUTHORIZING IN-KIND SERVICES FROM THE MIAMI-DADE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE MARCH 20-25, 2007 WORLD GOLF CHAMPIONS - CA CHAMPIONSHIP SPONSORED BY THE SOUTH FLORIDA GOLF FOUNDATION, INC., A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $53,638.00 TO BE FUNDED FROM THE COUNTYWIDE IN-KIND RESERVE FUND

BODY
WHEREAS, the South Florida Golf Foundation, Inc. has requested in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Police Department for the March 20-25, 2007 World Golf Champions � CA Championship in an amount not to exceed $53,638.00 (see attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application); and
WHEREAS, the South Florida Golf Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization; and
WHEREAS, the World Golf Champions � CA Championship is a special event, as that term is defined on the attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application, and the purpose of the event is to raise money for the 1st Tee Chapter of Miami-Dade and other local Florida charities; and
WHEREAS, the in-kind services shall be funded from the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board retroactively authorizes in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Police Department for the March 20-25, 2007 World Golf Champions � CA Championship in an amount not to exceed $53,638.00 to be funded from the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund.
