REPORT:	Assistant County Attorney Hugo Benitez read the foregoing resolution into the record. He asked that this resolution be amended to add the following language: "to provide that $575 comes from the in-kind services, funded from the non ad valorem portion of the fire rescue district in-kind reserve funds.” Commissioner Sosa, Gimenez, Souto, Diaz, and Chairman Martinez asked that they be listed as co-sponsors. Hearing no other questions or comments, the Committee proceeded to vote.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING IN-KIND SERVICES FROM THE MIAMI-DADE PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT, THE MIAMI-DADE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND THE MIAMI-DADE FIRE RESCUE DEPARTMENT FOR THE MAY 5, 2007 ANNUAL 5K WALK/RUN FOR ASTHMA SPONSORED BY THE CONTINENTAL SOCIETIES, INC. GREATER MIAMI CHAPTER, A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $7,490.34 TO BE FUNDED IN PART FROM THE COUNTYWIDE IN-KIND RESERVE FUND AND IN PART FROM THE NON-AD VALOREM PORTION OF THE FIRE RESCUE DISTRICT IN-KIND RESERVE FUND

BODY
WHEREAS, Continental Societies, Inc. Greater Miami Chapter has requested in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department, the Miami-Dade Police Department, and the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department for the May 5, 2007 Annual 5K Walk/Run for Asthma in an amount not to exceed $7,490.34 (see attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application); and
WHEREAS, the Annual 5K Walk/Run for Asthma will raise funds to help support the American Lung Association of Florida, Inc. South Area�s school-based asthma program as well as the University of Miami Cancer Research Center; and
WHEREAS, Continental Societies, Inc. Greater Miami Chapter is a not-for-profit organization; and
WHEREAS, the Annual 5K Walk/Run for Asthma is a special event, as that term is defined in the attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application, and $6,915.34 of the in-kind services shall be funded from the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund and $575.00 of the in-kind services shall be funded from the non-ad valorem portion of the Fire Rescue District In-Kind Reserve Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board authorizes in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department, the Miami-Dade Police Department, and the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department for the May 5, 2007 Annual 5K Walk/Run for Asthma in an amount not to exceed $7,490.34 to be funded in part from the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund and in part from the non-ad valorem portion of the Fire Rescue District In-kind Reserve Fund.
