REPORT:	Assistant County Attorney Price-Williams read the foregoing resolution into the record. It was moved by Commissioner Gimenez that this proposed resolution be forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners with a favorable recommendation. This motion was seconded by Commissioner Sosa. Following comments by Commissioner Moss regarding the importance of the “Mom and Pop Success Stories” program being broadcast on Miami-Dade Television year round to show the assistance the County provided these businesses, the Committee proceeded to vote.

TITLE
RESOLUTION CONCERNING MIAMI-DADE TELEVISION, DIRECTING THE COUNTY MANAGER TO ESTABLISH YEAR-ROUND, ONGOING PROGRAMMING FOR �MOM & POP SUCCESS STORIES� WHICH HIGHLIGHTS SUCCESS STORIES IN EACH COMMISSION DISTRICT

BODY
WHEREAS, Miami-Dade Television has produced and broadcast a single television show entitled �Mom and Pop Success Stories� which profiled the success stories of local small and minority-owned businesses that have received �Mom and Pop� grants from Miami-Dade County�s Office of Community and Economic Development; and
WHEREAS, this television show inspired other small businesses and provided positive coverage of a successful Miami-Dade County grant program; and
WHEREAS, it would serve the public interest for programming of this nature to be produced and broadcast on a regular and year-round basis to inspire entrepreneurs and inform the public of the good works of its County Government,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the County Manager is directed to produce and broadcast on a regular and year-round basis continual programming of �Mom and Pop Success Stories� that highlights success stories from each of the Commission districts.
