TITLE
RESOLUTION RETROACTIVELY AUTHORIZING IN-KIND SERVICES FROM THE MIAMI-DADE TRANSIT AGENCY FOR THE JULY 21-24, 2007 2007 NCLR ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND LATINO EXPO USA SPONSORED BY THE NATIONAL COUNCIL OF LA RAZA, A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $31,376.10 TO BE FUNDED FROM THE COUNTYWIDE IN-KIND RESERVE FUND

BODY
WHEREAS, the National Council of La Raza has requested in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Transit Agency for the July 21-24, 2007 NCLR Annual Conference and Latino Expo USA in an amount not to exceed $31,376.10 (see attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application); and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the NCLR Annual Conference and Latino Expo USA is to provide a forum for people to become familiar with on-going and emerging issues in the Hispanic community and to generate partnerships between the Hispanic community based organizations, institutions, other organizations and companies; and
WHEREAS, the National Council of La Raza is a not-for-profit organization; and
WHEREAS, the NCLR Annual Conference and Latino Expo USA is a major event, as defined in the attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application and the in-kind services shall be funded from the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board retroactively authorizes in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Transit Agency for the June 21-24, 2007 NCLR Annual Conference and Latino Expo USA event in an amount not to exceed $31,376.10 to be funded from the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund.
