TITLE
RESOLUTION RELATING TO PUBLIC PARKING FACILITIES AT MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT; AND AUTHORIZING COUNTY MANAGER TO REPORT WITHIN THIRTY DAYS ON THE USE OF SUNPASS AS A PAYMENT METHOD

BODY
WHEREAS, SunPass is the State of Florida Department of Transportation's prepaid toll program which can be used on state toll roads and most toll bridges. SunPass customers enjoy the ease and convenience of electronic tolling, and access to an increasing network of SunPass-only toll lanes, ramps and interchanges which process traffic at a faster rate, and reduce congestion and associated traffic; and
WHEREAS, since 1999 over three (3) million SunPass transponders have been activated throughout the State of Florida; and
WHEREAS, SunPass customers with Easy Pay automatic replenishment using a credit or check card can use their SunPass to pay for parking at Orlando International Airport, and will have such a parking payment option at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International, Tampa International, and Palm Beach airports,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board authorizes the County Manager to report to the Board within thirty (30) days, on the use of SunPass as a payment method for public parking facilities at Miami International Airport.
