TITLE
RESOLUTION RETROACTIVELY AUTHORIZING IN-KIND SERVICES FROM THE MIAMI-DADE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE OCTOBER 13-14, 2007 DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL SPONSORED BY UNITED CHINESE ASSOCIATION OF FLORIDA, INC., A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $7,978.53 TO BE FUNDED FROM THE COUNTYWIDE IN-KIND RESERVE FUND

BODY
WHEREAS, the United Chinese Association of Florida, Inc. has requested in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Police Department for the October 13-14, 2007 Dragon Boat Festival event in an amount not to exceed $7,978.53 (see attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application); and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Dragon Boat Festival is to promote a fun family festival, tourism, raise funds to give back to the community, and to increase fitness and health awareness for Miami-Dade County residents; and
WHEREAS, the United Chinese Association of Florida, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization; and
WHEREAS, the Dragon Boat Festival is a district event, as that term is defined on the attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application, and the in-kind services shall be funded from the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board retroactively authorizes in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Police Department for the October 13-14, 2007 Dragon Boat Festival in an amount not to exceed $7,978.53 to be funded from the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund.
