TITLE
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING IN-KIND SERVICES FROM THE MIAMI-DADE PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT AND MIAMI-DADE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE APRIL 26, 2008 WALK AMERICA EVENT SPONSORED BY THE MARCH OF DIMES FOUNDATION, INC. A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $28,223.00 TO BE FUNDED FROM THE COUNTYWIDE IN-KIND RESERVE

BODY
WHEREAS, the March of Dimes Foundation, Inc. has requested in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department and the Miami-Dade Police Department for the April 26, 2008 Walk America event in an amount not to exceed $28,223.00 (see attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application); and
WHEREAS, the Walk America event is a fundraiser walk that raises money to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature births and infant mortality; and
WHEREAS, the March of Dimes Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization; and
WHEREAS, the Walk America is a major event, as that term is defined on the attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application, and $28,223.00 of the in-kind services shall be funded from the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board authorizes in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department and the Miami-Dade Police Department for the April 26, 2008 Walk America event in an amount not to exceed $28,223.00 to be funded from the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund.
