REPORT:	Assistant County Attorney Sanchez read the foregoing proposed resolution into the record. In response to Commissioner Heyman’s concern with a large sum of money being requested without the proper paperwork for authentication, Assistant County Manager Hudak noted staff requested and expected to receive the documents within two hours. Chairman Moss asked Assistant County Manager Hudak to prepare an itemized report reflecting the amount and purpose of each requested expenditure, including the remaining balances. He asked that this information be submitted as an attachment to this proposed resolution when forwarded for consideration by the County Commission. There being no further questions or comments, the Committee proceeded to vote.

TITLE
RESOLUTION RETROACTIVELY AUTHORIZING IN-KIND SERVICES FROM THE MIAMI- DADE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE MARCH 17-23, 2008 WORLD GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS - CA CHAMPIONSHIP SPONSORED BY SOUTH FLORIDA GOLF FOUNDATION, INC., A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $69,574.44 TO BE FUNDED FROM THE COUNTYWIDE IN-KIND RESERVE FUND

BODY
WHEREAS, South Florida Golf Foundation, Inc. has requested in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department and from the Miami-Dade Police Department for the March 17-23, 2008 World Golf Champions -CA Championship in an amount not to exceed $95,693.44 (see attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application); and
WHEREAS, of those in-kind services, those being requested from the Miami-Dade Police Department are in an amount not to exceed $69,574.44; and
WHEREAS, the World Golf Champions -CA Championship is part of the PGA Tour golf charity event that attracts over seventy-five (75) professional golf players to raise funds for local South Florida charities such as the Make A Wish Foundation, Miami Children's Hospital Foundation, Baptist Children's Hospital Foundation, The Nate Moore Foundation, the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, the First Tee, and many others benefiting sick and underprivileged children; and
WHEREAS, South Florida Golf Foundation, Inc is a not-for-profit organization; and
WHEREAS, the World Golf Champions -CA Championship event is a major event, as that term is defined on the attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application, and the in-kind services shall be funded from the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board retroactively authorizes in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Police Department for the March 17-23, 2008 World Golf Champions -CA Championship event in an amount not to exceed $69,574.44 to be funded the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund.
