TITLE
RESOLUTION RETROACTIVELY AUTHORIZING IN-KIND SERVICES FROM THE MIAMI-DADE PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT FOR THE FEBRUARY 22, 2008 FCAT TESTING PREP RALLY SPONSORED BY EUGENIA B. THOMAS K-8 CENTER, A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $7,318.00 TO BE FUNDED FROM THE DISTRICT 12 IN-KIND RESERVE FUND

BODY
WHEREAS, the Eugenia B. Thomas K-8 Center has requested in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department for the February 22, 2008 FCAT Testing Prep Rally in an amount not to exceed $7,318.00 (see attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application); and
WHEREAS, the FCAT Testing Prep Rally is a celebration to allow students an opportunity to release their tension, stress, and fears of the up-coming mandatory FCAT test sessions; and
WHEREAS, the Eugenia B. Thomas K-8 Center is a not-for-profit organization; and
WHEREAS, the FCAT Testing Prep Rally is a small event, as that term is defined on the attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application, and $7,318.00 of the in-kind services shall be funded from the District 12 In-kind Reserve Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board retroactively authorizes in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department for the February 22, 2008 FCAT Testing Prep Rally in an amount not to exceed $7,318.00 to be funded from the District 12 In-kind Reserve Fund.
