TITLE
RESOLUTION EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE OUTSTANDING WORK OF CITY YEAR IN IMPROVING THE LIVES OF THIS NATION'S YOUTH

BODY
WHEREAS, City Year was founded in 1988 on the belief that young people can change the world; and
WHEREAS, City Year seeks to help children succeed, build stronger communities, break down social barriers, develop young leaders, and foster active citizenship; and
WHEREAS, City Year unites young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service; and
WHEREAS, City Year volunteers, as tutors, mentors, and role models, are already making a difference in the lives of children, and transforming schools and neighborhoods in 17 U.S. locations and Johannesburg, South Africa; and
WHEREAS, Miami is now the eighteenth U.S. city to benefit from the dedication of City Year volunteers,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board expresses its unqualified support for the outstanding work of City Year in improving the lives of this nation's youth,
