TITLE
RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF APPLICATION OF CONTRACTORS' RESOURCES CENTER, INC. ("CRC"), TO THE STATE OF FLORIDA OFFICE OF TOURISM, TRADE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION TAX CREDIT APPROVAL; CERTIFYING THAT CRC'S COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION PROJECTS ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE DEVELOPMENT MASTER PLAN ("CDMP") AND ALL OTHER APPLICABLE COUNTY REGULATIONS

BODY
WHEREAS, Florida law provides that certain businesses may apply for and receive a credit against state taxes for 50% of the value of qualified community contributions that are directed to approved projects, up to a maximum credit of $200,000 per year; and
WHEREAS, projects that may be approved include projects in an enterprise zone or Florida Front Porch Community, projects to provide housing to low income or very low income persons, and limited other types of projects; and
WHEREAS, any project for which a business seeks tax credit must be undertaken by an "eligible sponsor," which may include nonprofit community-based organizations such as Contractors' Resource Center, Inc., an entity that seeks, obtains and distributes various businesses' contributions to construct or rehabilitate housing for low-income and very-low income households in Miami-Dade County; and
WHEREAS, an application for a community contribution tax credit must contain a resolution from the local government where the proposed community contribution project is located, certifying that a project to be undertaken through a sponsor is consistent with local plans and regulations; and
WHEREAS, the Contractors Resource Center, Inc. wishes to apply to become an eligible sponsor and solicit donations for low- and very low-income infill housing on scattered sites throughout Miami-Dade County, and seeks from this Board the certification by local government that is necessary to submit an eligible sponsor application; and
WHEREAS, this Board finds that the affordable housing projects throughout Miami-Dade County undertaken by Contractors' Resources Center, Inc., are consistent with the Miami-Dade County Comprehensive Development Master Plan (CDMP) and all other applicable regulations,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board certifies, in accordance with the requirements of Section 220.183(3), Florida Statutes, that the projects undertaken by Contractors Resource Center, Inc., for low- and very low-income infill housing throughout Miami-Dade County are consistent with the CDMP and all other applicable County regulations.
