REPORT: Assistant County Attorney Cynthia Johnson-Stacks read the foregoing proposed resolution into the record. Chairwoman Edmonson asked to be listed as a cosponsor to this proposed resolution. The Committee proceeded to vote on this proposed resolution as presented. Commissioner Moss explained the intent of this proposed resolution would provide some recognition for the County’s contribution to said Community Redevelopment Agencies (CRAs) development projects. Chairwoman Edmonson concurred with Commissioner Moss’ comments regarding recognition of the County’s contribution to CRA projects. Commissioner Souto noted the County’s contribution to CRAs was very crucial for CRAs due to the current economic conditions for development of their projects.

TITLE
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OR DESIGNEE TO ENSURE THAT ALL ALLOCATIONS OF COUNTY FUNDS TO ANY COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT(S) ARE CONDITIONED UPON THE CRA�S RECOGNITION OF THE COUNTY�S CONTRIBUTION TO SAID PROJECT

BODY
WHEREAS, Miami-Dade County (�County�) has allocated County funds to Community Redevelopment Agencies (�CRAs�) for their development projects; and
WHEREAS, often times these funds are received by CRAs without any recognition of the County�s contributions; and
WHEREAS, the Board desires that any allocation of County funds to be used solely for any CRAs� development project(s) should be condition on said recognition,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, the Board authorizes the County Mayor or his designee to ensure that all contracts, publicity, public relations, advertisements and signs recognize Miami-Dade County, its Board of County Commissioners, the County Mayor, the County Manager and any County department for the support received by Miami-Dade County for its contribution to any CRA development project(s).� This recognition shall appear on all posted signs, pamphlets, wall plaques, cornerstones, dedications, notices, flyers, brochures, news releases, media packages, promotions, and stationary, and each CRA is further authorized to use the official Miami-Dade County logo on same. � All signs used to publicize Miami-Dade County funded CRA development projects must be approved by the Mayor or his designee prior to being posted and must also meet the standard specifications as established by the Mayor or his designee.�
