REPORT:	The Board adopted the foregoing resolution as amended to correct a scrivener’s error on handwritten page 14, replacing the amount of $2,020 for the Water and Sewer Department’s services with the correct amount of $1,515, and replacing the total in-kind amount of $3,914 with the correct amount of $3,409.

RESOLUTION RETROACTIVELY AUTHORIZING IN-KIND SERVICES FROM THE MIAMI-DADE PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT, THE MIAMI-DADE WATER AND SEWER DEPARTMENT, AND THE MIAMI-DADE TRANSIT AGENCY FOR THE APRIL 4, 2008 MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. CANDLELIGHT MEMORIAL SERVICE SPONSORED BY THE MARTIN LUTHER KING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $3,409.00 TO BE FUNDED FROM THE COUNTYWIDE IN-KIND RESERVE FUND

BODY
WHEREAS, the Martin Luther King Economic Development Corporation has requested in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Parks and Recreation Department, the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department, and the Miami-Dade Transit Agency for the April 4, 2008 Martin Luther King, Jr. Candlelight Memorial Service in an amount not to exceed $3,409.00 (see attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application); and
WHEREAS, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Candlelight Memorial Service is a free event and the purpose of this event is to continue Martin Luther King, Jr.�s legacy by advocating social change through non-violent means; and
WHEREAS, the Martin Luther King Economic Development Corporation is a not-for-profit organization; and
WHEREAS, Martin Luther King, Jr. Candlelight Memorial Service is a major event, as that term is defined on the attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application, and the in-kind services shall be funded from the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board retroactively authorizes in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Parks and Recreation Department, the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department, and the Miami-Dade Transit Agency for the April 4, 2008 Martin Luther King, Jr. Candlelight Memorial Service in an amount not to exceed $3,409.00 to be funded from the Countywide In-kind Reserve Fund.
