TITLE
RESOLUTION RETROACTIVELY AUTHORIZING IN-KIND SERVICES FROM THE MIAMI-DADE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE OCTOBER 12, 2008 �CELEBRATION OF SMILES� EVENT SPONSORED BY BIG BIKE RIDERS ASSOCIATION OF FLORIDA, INC., A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $5,641.00 TO BE FUNDED FROM THE DISTRICT 12 IN-KIND RESERVE FUND

BODY
WHEREAS, the Big Bike Riders Association of Florida, Inc. has requested in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Police Department for the October 12, 2008 �Celebration of Smiles� event in an amount not to exceed $5,641.00 (see attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application); and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the �Celebration of Smiles� event is to raise funds for various children�s charities in Miami-Dade County including, but not limited to, God�s Little Acres, Children�s Home Society and Miami Children�s Hospital; and
WHEREAS, the Big Bike Riders Association of Florida, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization; and
WHEREAS, the �Celebration of Smiles� event is a small event, as that term is defined on the attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application and $5,641.00 of the in-kind services shall be funded from the District 12 In-kind Reserve Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board retroactively authorizes in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Police Department for the October 12, 2008 �Celebration of Smiles� event in an amount not to exceed $5,641.00 to be funded from the District 12 In-kind Reserve Fund.
