TITLE
RESOLUTION RETROACTIVELY AUTHORIZING IN-KIND SERVICES FROM THE MIAMI-DADE PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT FOR THE MARCH 14, 2009 �SUMMER GAMES COMPETITION� SPONSORED BY THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS FLORIDA, INC. A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,085.00 TO BE FUNDED FROM THE DISTRICT 12 IN-KIND RESERVE FUND

BODY
WHEREAS, Special Olympics Florida, Inc. has requested in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department for the March 14, 2009 �Summer Games Competition� event in an amount not to exceed $1,085.00 (see attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application); and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the �Summer Games Competition� is to enable athletes with special needs to participate in a competitive setting, and to provide health screening services; and
WHEREAS, Special Olympics Florida, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization; and
WHEREAS, the �Summer Games Competition� is a small event, as that term is defined on the attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application and $1,085.00 of the in-kind services shall be funded from the District 12 In-kind Reserve Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board retroactively authorizes in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department for the March 14, 2009 �Summer Games Competition� in an amount not to exceed $1,085.00 to be funded from the District 12 In-kind Reserve Fund.
