REPORT: Chairman Moss questioned whether renaming the Public Health Trust’s Diagnostic Treatment Center was sufficient to honor the legacy that Mr. Ira Clark contributed to the Trust. Commissioner Jordan noted it would be appropriate to name the entire Jackson Health System in Ira Clark’s honor; however, this was the first step in honoring his accomplishments on behalf of the Trust. Commissioner Seijas indicated that an appropriate honor would be funding an Ira Clark fellowship. Commissioner Rolle noted that as a Trust appointee, he would continue this conversation and report back to the Commission. There being no further questions or comments, the Commission proceeded to vote.

TITLE
RESOLUTION APPROVING RENAMING THE PUBLIC HEALTH TRUST�S DIAGNOSTIC TREATMENT CENTER �THE IRA C. CLARK DIAGNOSTIC TREATMENT CENTER�

BODY
WHEREAS, Ira C. Clark, who passed away on February 7, 2009, was a former President of the Public Health Trust; and
WHEREAS, at its March 23, 2009 meeting, the Board of Trustees of the Public Health Trust passed the attached Resolution No. PHT 03/09-028 seeking to rename the Trust�s Diagnostic Treatment Center �The Ira C. Clark Diagnostic Treatment Center� in honor of Mr. Clark�s lifetime contribution to the Public Health Trust and the Miami-Dade County community; and
WHEREAS, and for such lifetime contribution the Public Health Trust recommends to the Commission that its designated facility now known as the Diagnostic Treatment Center be renamed �The Ira C. Clark Diagnostic Treatment Center�; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held to consider such renaming,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that that this Board hereby approves renaming the Public Health Trust�s Diagnostic Treatment Center �The Ira C. Clark Diagnostic Treatment Center.�
