RESOLUTION RETROACTIVELY AUTHORIZING IN-KIND SERVICES FROM THE MIAMI-DADE PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT AND THE MIAMI-DADE WATER AND SEWER DEPARTMENT FOR THE APRIL 3, 2009 �8TH ANNUAL DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. CANDLELIGHT MEMORIAL SERVICE� SPONSORED BY THE MARTIN LUTHER KING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $3,865.00 TO BE FUNDED FROM THE DISTRICT 3 IN-KIND RESERVE FUND

BODY

WHEREAS, the Martin Luther King Economic Development Corporation has requested in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department and the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department for the April 3, 2009 �8th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Candlelight Memorial Service� in an amount not to exceed $3,865.00 (see attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application); and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the �8th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Candlelight Memorial Service� is to remember and continue the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by advocating for social change through nonviolent means; and
WHEREAS, the Martin Luther King Economic Development Corporation is a not-for-profit organization; and
WHEREAS, the �8th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Candlelight Memorial Service� is a district event, as that term is defined on the attached Fee Waiver/In-kind Service Application, and $3,865.00 of the in-kind services shall be funded from the District 3 In-kind Reserve Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board retroactively authorizes in-kind services from the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department and Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department for the April 3, 2009 �8th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Candlelight Memorial Service� in an amount not to exceed $3,865.00 to be funded from the District 3 In-kind Reserve Fund.
