REPORT:	Assistant County Attorney Ferrer read the foregoing proposed resolution into the record. The following scrivener's error was corrected in the County Manager's Memorandum entitled "Changes to the Recreation, Culture & Tourism Committee Agenda: The official agenda should read: Joe A. martinez, Prime Sponsor, Jose "Pepe" Diaz", Co-Sponsor. Chairman Souto opened the public hearing; however it was closed, after no one appeared in connection with this proposed resolution. Hearing no questions or comments the Committee proceeded to vote.

TITLE
RESOLUTION APPROVING NAMING BASEBALL FIELD NO. 8 IN TAMIAMI PARK AS �THE JOEL RODRIGUEZ FIELD�

BODY
WHEREAS, Joel Rodriguez, who passed away on April 5, 2009, was a baseball coach for the Tamiami Youth Baseball Association for over ten years; and
WHEREAS, throughout those years, Mr. Rodriguez also served as assistant commissioner, as a rules committee member and as an executive board member of the league; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Rodriguez was an exceptional baseball coach; managing a team that in 2004 won the Pony Baseball�s Mustang Division World Series in Irvin, Texas and a team that in 2006 won the Bronco Division�s World Series in Monterey, California; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Rodriguez not only coached the kids in the Tamiami Youth Baseball leagues, he dedicated himself to helping those kids financially, to providing them lessons on life and to teaching them values and how to become better people; and
WHEREAS, this Board, after a public hearing, desires name baseball field no. 8 in Tamiami Park as �The Joel Rodriguez Field� in honor of this individual,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board, after a public hearing, hereby approves the naming of baseball field no. 8 in Tamiami Park as �The Joel Rodriguez Field.�
