TITLE
RESOLUTION EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR MIAMI-DADE COUNTY�S BID TO BE THE HOST SITE FOR THE 2018 OR 2022 WORLD CUP

BODY
WHEREAS, the World Cup is the preeminent soccer tournament, attracting the finest soccer players from throughout the world; and
WHEREAS, hosting the World Cup would attract thousands of spectators to Miami-Dade County resulting in an economic stimulus for this community; and
WHEREAS, hundreds of millions of individuals watch the televised World Cup matches, thus providing invaluable exposure to Miami-Dade County; and
WHEREAS, the World Cup promotes international cooperation through athletic competition,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board, hereby expresses its support for Miami-Dade County�s bid to host the 2018 or 2022 World Cup.
