TITLE
RESOLUTION CO-DESIGNATING N.E. 2ND AVENUE AS SNAIL KITE AVENUE, N. MIAMI AVENUE AS ORIOLE AVENUE AND N.W. 2ND AVENUE AS CATBIRD AVENUE, ALL WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF EL PORTAL; APPROVING THE CO-DESIGNATION BY THE VILLAGE OF EL PORTAL OF VILLAGE ROADS WITH THE NAMES OF BIRDS

BODY
WHEREAS, on July 28, 2009, the Mayor and Village Council of the Village of El Portal adopted Resolution No. 2009-008, recognizing the Village�s long-standing status as a bird sanctuary, urging the County to codesignate County roads within the Village of El Portal with the names of birds and co-designating Village roads within the Village of El Portal with the names of birds, a copy of which is attached and incorporated by reference; and
WHEREAS, the Village of El Portal wants the County to codesignate County roads within the Village and install signage indicating Village co-designations on County street signs and traffic signal masts arms; and
WHEREAS, these co-designations are located in County Commission District 3,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board:
Section 1. Having conducted a public hearing on the matter, co-designates the following County roads:
a. N.E. 2nd Avenue from Little River Canal No. 7 to N.E. 91st Street in the Village of El Portal as �Snail Kite Avenue.�
b. N. Miami Avenue from Little River Canal No. 7 to N. 91st Street in the Village of El Portal as �Oriole Avenue.�
c. N.W. 2nd Avenue from N.W. 86th Street to N.W. 91st Street in the Village of El Portal as �Catbird Avenue.�
Section 2. Approves the Village of El Portal�s co-designation of the city streets, terrace and avenues within the boundaries of the Village of El Portal with names as set forth in the attached Exhibit �A�.
Section 3. Directs the Clerk of the Board to send certified copies of this Resolution to the City Manager of the City of Miami, the United States Postal Service, the Traffic Signals and Signs Division of the Public Works Department and Land Development Division of the Public Works Department, the Miami-Dade Police Department, and the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department.
