REPORT: | Assistant County Attorney Gerald Sanchez read the foregoing proposed resolution into the record. Commissioner Jordan, the sponsor of this item, noted that she brought this item forth because the County Commission did not recognize the canine teams for their rescue efforts in the aftermath of the January 12, 2010, Haiti Earthquake. She wanted the dogs to receive the Milk Bone Rescue Award as a token of the County Commission’s appreciation of their courageous efforts. The Committee proceeded to vote on this proposed resolution as presented. Vice Chairwoman Sosa suggested that a Scooby Snack be presented to the dogs as well. Commissioner Diaz stated that he was honored to see the dogs at work in Haiti. He asked that he be listed as a cosponsor on this proposed resolution. Commissioner Souto also asked to be listed as a cosponsor on this proposed resolution. | ||||||
