REPORT: Assistant County Attorney Gerald Sanchez read the foregoing discussion item into the record. Mr. Andrew Goldschmidt, Director for Membership Marketing, National Association of Counties (NACO), 25 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington DC, appeared before the Committee and provided an overview of the NACO Prescription Discount Card Program. Mr. Stephen Rohm, Strategic Account Executive, CVS Caremark, 9501 East Shea Boulevard, Scottsdale, Arizona, appeared before the Committee and provided an overview of the logistics for usage of the prescription discount card including the program benefits. Chairwoman Heyman thanked both men for appearing before the Committee and providing the information regarding NACO Prescription Discount Card Program. She asked Mr. Goldschmidt and Mr. Rohm to provide the information distributed today (5/13) during the Committee meeting to Jackson Health Systems and Ms. Janet Perkins, Executive Director, Office of Countywide Healthcare Planning. In addition, she asked that Assistant County Manager Alina Hudak be provided with this information as well. Chairwoman Heyman indicated if the County proceeded with the matter a proposed resolution may come forth. She noted this information presented today (513) was very substantive during the County process to review all options to reduce healthcare costs and keep this community healthy.
