TITLE
RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE COUNTY MAYOR TO PREPARE A REPORT ON THE BEST METHODOLOGY AND IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE TO CREATE WASTE WATCH PROGRAMS IN CONJUNCTION WITH OR SIMILAR TO THE PROGRAM CONDUCTED BY WASTE MANAGEMENT, INC.

BODY
WHEREAS, Waste Management, Inc. has a program within municipalities throughout the country called �Waste Watch Program�; and
WHEREAS, this program trains drivers of Waste Management�s vehicles within the locality to look for and report suspicious or criminal activity to the local authority; and
WHEREAS, having additional eyes and ears on the streets of Miami-Dade County looking for and reporting suspicious and criminal activity will assist in the control and reduction of crime in Miami-Dade County; and
WHEREAS, creating a program similar to that offered by Waste Management Inc. for county drivers is in the best interest of the county,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board of County Commissioners directs the Mayor and/or the Mayor�s designee to prepare a report detailing the best methodology and implementation schedule to create a Waste Watch Program for Waste Management, Inc.�s drivers in Miami-Dade County. In addition, directing the Mayor and/or Mayor�s designee to prepare a report detailing the best methodology and implementation schedule to create a waste watch like program for county employed drivers for Miami-Dade County. This report shall be presented to this Board of County Commissioners within sixty (60) days of the date of this resolution.
