REPORT: | Assistant County Attorney Bruce Libhaber read into the record the foregoing proposed resolution. Commissioners Edmonson, Heyman, and Moss requested to be listed as co-sponsors. Commissioner Heyman requested that a progress report be prepared for the Regional Transportation Committee (RTC) meeting of November 7, 2011, outlining the programs and procedures implemented to improve the maintenance and security measures at the Metrorail and Metromover stations and adjacent parking facilities. There being no further comments, the Committee proceeded to vote. | ||||||

TITLE RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE COUNTY MAYOR OR MAYOR�S DESIGNEE TO IMPLEMENT PROCEDURES TO IMPROVE THE MAINTENANCE AND SECURITY AT METRORAIL AND METROMOVER STATIONS AND ADJACENT PARKING FACILITIES BODY WHEREAS, better maintenance and security at Metrorail and Metromover facilities will improve the aesthetics at these County owned facilities; and WHEREAS, improved security and maintenance will result in a safer transit system for patrons and County employees; and WHEREAS, better lighting at the transit stations and parking facilities is an important component of improved security for transit patrons and property; and WHEREAS, safer and more aesthetically pleasing facilities, free of debris and graffiti, are likely to result in increased usage of the Miami-Dade Transit system, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board hereby directs the County Mayor or Mayor�s designee to implement procedures to improve the maintenance and security at Metrorail and Metromover stations and at adjacent parking facilities. |
