Ms. Abad noted the Board met on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. with public hearings for one hour preceding each meeting. She invited commissioners and their staff to participate in these meeting. Ms. Abad noted the Hispanic population was the most rapidly growing population in the United States. She noted the Board partnered with many community agencies and organizations to deliver its services throughout the County and Board Member Jorge Iglesias hosted a radio program which provided information to the community on various topics, including voter registration, immigration, public housing, and health and education issues. Ms. Abad said a Board member travelled to Washington DC to advocate for immigrant rights, and other Board members participated in various conferences and workshops.
