TITLE
RESOLUTION WAIVING TERM LIMIT PURSUANT TO SECTION 2-892 OF THE CODE OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY FOR AND REAPPOINTING MIGNA SANCHEZ-LLORENS TO THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE OVERSIGHT BOARD

BODY

WHEREAS, Migna Sanchez-Llorens has served as a member of the Miami-Dade County Domestic Violence Oversight Board (�DVOB�) since October 2, 2007; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Sanchez-Llorens has demonstrated a commitment to victims of domestic violence, the residents of Miami-Dade County, and the goals of the DVOB; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Sanchez-Llorens desires to continue to serve as a member of the DVOB; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Sanchez-Llorens has served two (2) consecutive and complete terms of three (3) years; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-892(d) of the Code of Miami-Dade County, which governs the DVOB, states that �no board member shall be permitted to serve more than two (2) consecutive and complete terms of three (3) years each unless so authorized by two-thirds (2/3) vote of the full membership of the Board of County Commissioners;� and
WHEREAS, the Board desires to reappoint Ms. Sanchez-Llorens to serve as a member of the DVOB,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are incorporated in this resolution and are approved.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 2-892(d) of the Code of Miami-Dade County, the Board by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of its full membership, hereby waives the term limit requirement for Migna Sanchez-Llorens.
Section 3. The Board reappoints Migna Sanchez-Llorens to the Miami-Dade Domestic Violence Oversight Board for a three (3) year term.
