RESOLUTION APPROVING THE STATE ROAD CODESIGNATION OF STATE ROAD 932/N. 103RD STREET BETWEEN N.W. 3RD AVENUE AND N.E. 6TH AVENUE AS �TANYA MARTIN OUBRE PEKEL STREET�

BODY
WHEREAS, during the 2012 regular session, the Florida Legislature passed HB 7039, which, among other codesignations, codesignated State Road 932/N. 103rd Street between N.W. 3rd Avenue and N.E. 6th Avenue as �Tanya Martin Oubre Pekel Street�; and
WHEREAS, Tanya Martin Oubre Pekel was a Miami native who served as an associate director of Education and Policy Planning in the White House as part of President Bill Clinton�s administration; and
WHEREAS, she passed away on May 22, 2006; and
WHEREAS, section 334.071, Florida Statutes, provides that the installation of road codesignation signs shall be contingent on the applicable county or city commission passing a resolution in support of the particular honorary road codesignation; and
WHEREAS, State Road 932/N. 103rd Street between N.W. 3rd Avenue and N.E. 6th Avenue is a state road located in the Village of Miami Shores; and
WHEREAS, this codesignation is located in County Commission District 3,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board:
Section 1. Approves the state codesignation of State Road 932/N. 103rd Street between N.W. 3rd Avenue and N.E. 6th Avenue as �Tanya Martin Oubre Pekel Street�.


Section 2. Directs the Clerk of the Board to send certified copies of this Resolution to the Village Manager of Miami Shores Village, the United States Postal Service, the Traffic Signals and Signs Division of the Public Works and Waste Management Department and Land Development/Right-of-Way Division of the Public Works and Waste Management Department, the Miami Shores Village Police Department, and the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department.
