TITLE
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING, BY A TWO-THIRDS (2/3) VOTE OF THE BOARD, THE RE-APPOINTMENT OF CATHY JONES TO THE VIZCAYA GARDENS AND MUSEUM TRUST

BODY
WHEREAS, Cathy Jones has served on the Vizcaya Gardens and Museum Trust (the �Vizcaya Trust�) since 1998 with distinction; and
WHEREAS, indeed, Ms. Jones served as the Vice Chair of the Vizcaya Trust from 2004 to 2007 and as the Chair of the Vizcaya Trust from 2007 to 2010; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Jones is a permanent resident of Miami-Dade County and has, throughout the past 13 years, demonstrated knowledge of and service to Vizcaya Museum and Gardens; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-113(D) of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida (�County Code�) provides that no Vizcaya Trust member �shall be permitted to serve more than two (2) consecutive and complete terms of three (3) years each unless so authorized by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the full membership of the Board of County Commissioners;� and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-113(D) of the County Code, this Board, upon a two-thirds (2/3) vote of its members, desires to re-appoint Cathy Jones to an additional three (3) year term as a member of the Vizcaya Trust,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board hereby authorizes and approves, by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Board, the re-appointment of Cathy Jones to an additional three (3) year terms as a member of the Vizcaya Trust.
