TITLE
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY OF SWEETWATER CODESIGNATION OF NW 110 AVENUE FROM NW 12 STREET TO NW 25 STREET AS �ADONEL WAY�

BODY
WHEREAS, on May 7, 2012 the Mayor and Commission of the City of Sweetwater adopted Resolution No. 3656 which designated NW 110 Avenue from NW 12 Street to NW 25 Street as �Adonel Way�, in recognition of the contributions that its President and Founder, Luis Garcia, has made to the City of Sweetwater, a copy of which is attached and incorporated by reference; and
WHEREAS, Luis Garcia was born in Nicaragua and moved to the United States at the age of 15; and
WHEREAS, in 1984, he bought a pick-up truck and a concrete mixer marking the beginning of Adonel Concrete; and
WHEREAS, at the present time, Adonel Concrete is the largest independently-owned concrete company in South Florida, with 110 employees and eight (8) concrete plants serving an area from Monroe County to Indian River County; and
WHEREAS, through these years, Luis Garcia has served his community well, making Adonel Concrete an integral part of the continued growth and prosperity of Northern Sweetwater; and
WHEREAS, NW 110 Avenue from NW 12 Street to NW 25 Street is a city street located in the City of Sweetwater; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sweetwater wants the County to install signage indicating this codesignation on County street signs and traffic signal masts arms; and
WHEREAS, this codesignation is located in County Commission District 12,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board:
Section 1. Approves the City of Sweetwater codesignation of NW 110 Avenue from NW 12 Street to NW 25 Street as �Adonel Way.�
Section 2. Directs the Clerk of the Board to send certified copies of this Resolution to the Mayor of the City of Sweetwater, the United States Postal Service, the Traffic Signals and Signs Division of the Public Works and Waste Management Department, the Development Services Division of the Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources, the Sweetwater Police Department and the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department.
