TITLE
RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE COUNTY MAYOR OR COUNTY MAYOR�S DESIGNEE TO IDENTIFY SOURCES OF FUNDING FOR COUNTY BRIDGE REPAIRS

BODY
WHEREAS, Miami-Dade County maintains and operates approximately eight movable bridges (drawbridges) and approximately 195 vehicular or pedestrian bridges; and
WHEREAS, the County�s bridge infrastructure is aging and requires periodic repairs to be preformed to maintain these bridges for the benefit of the residents and visitors of Miami-Dade County; and
WHEREAS, the Board desires to identify all potential funding sources to accomplish bridge repairs in Miami-Dade County including, but not limited to, the utilization of state or federal funds for these purposes,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
Section 1. The County Mayor or County Mayor�s designee is hereby directed to study and identify sources of funding the can be used for the repair of County bridges including, but not limited to, the availability of any state or federal funding for bridge repair purposes and to develop a plan to utilize these funding sources for the repair of County bridges.
Section 2. The County Mayor or County Mayor�s designee is further directed to report to the Board within ninety (90) days of the adoption of this Resolution any additional funding sources that may be used to repair County bridges and recommend any action which may be required to utilize obtain such funding for the repair of County bridges.
