TITLE RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE COUNTY MAYOR OR MAYOR�S DESIGNEE TO COORDINATE WITH THE CITY OF DORAL TO IMPLEMENT A PILOT PROGRAM UTILIZING REVERSIBLE LANES AND/OR ONE WAY ROADS WITHIN THE CITY OF DORAL [SEE ORIGINAL ITEM UNDER FILE NO. 160215] BODY WHEREAS, the residents and visitors to this County are negatively impacted by traffic congestion; and WHEREAS, the area in and around Doral continues to be one of the most congested areas within Miami-Dade County; and WHEREAS, this Board recognizes the need to create efficiency in our thoroughfares through the potential use of one way and/or reversible lanes; and WHEREAS, coordinating with officials from Doral will facilitate the communication of the concerns of residents and business owners most directly impacted by traffic in that area; and WHEREAS, Doral [[and other municipalities]]1 may be willing to provide financial and technical support for reversible lanes and/or one way roads in order to alleviate traffic[[,]]>>; and WHEREAS, the implementation of a pilot program in Doral utilizing reversible and/or one way roads may serve a significant role in alleviating traffic in this area of Miami-Dade County; and WHEREAS, a successful pilot program may serve as a template to facilitate implementation of such traffic alleviation measures within other areas of Miami-Dade County,<< NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board >>incorporates the foregoing recitals and<< directs the County Mayor or Mayor�s designee to coordinate with the City of Doral to implement a pilot program utilizing reversible lanes and/or converting certain two way roads to one-way roads >>within the City of Doral.<<[[, and further directs the County Mayor or designee to prepare a study to determine the feasibility of working with other municipalities to expand the use of reversible lanes and/or one way roads. The County Mayor or Mayor�s designee shall provide a report to this Board regarding the feasibility study within 90 days of the effective date of this resolution and shall place the completed report on an agenda of the Board pursuant to Ordinance No. 14-65.]] 1 The differences between the substitute and the original item are indicated as follows:� Words stricken through and/or [[double bracketed]] shall be deleted, words underscored and/or >>double arrowed<< are added.
