The Revenue Maximization and Grants Coordination Division  
The Revenue Maximization (RevMax) and Grants Coordination Division provides a variety of valuable services to County Departments, their partners, and the community at large.

Grants Coordination
One of the Division’s primary goals is to bring more revenue to County departments and their community partners through grants. The Division researches potential grant funding opportunities and posts them to our website on a weekly basis.  The Division also helps County departments and community-based organizations with grant writing grants-related technical assistance, training, and other types of grant application assistance and support. The Division also tries to promote collaboration between departments to make the most of limited resources.

Since 2003, the Division has successfully assisted County departments and partnering community based organizations (CBOs) bring in over $121 million in grant funding!

As part of our grant coordination efforts, our Division maintains grant webpages with links to current grant opportunities,federal, state, local, and private funding sources. Our weekly G-mail notifies subscribers of new funding opportunities (subscribe here). Our Submit a New Grant Opportunity feature enables website users to recommend current grant opportunities for distribution via our G-mail and posting on our website.   

The Division works closely with the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs and County lobbyists to monitor state and federal legislation for potential funding opportunities as well as identify areas of budget reduction that might benefit from additional grant seeking efforts. Our Division also maintains an internal database to track grants applied for and received by County Departments. Grants applications are scanned and saved to an electronic library to provide a useful reference for later grant proposals. Staff may also be asked to provide guidance and recommendations regarding County grant procedures and protocol.

Revenue Maximization
The goal of revenue maximization is to expand program access and/or benefits, or simply to increase the share of federal funds that finance particular programs or services. Revenue Maximization opportunities are limited to social services such as Medicaid and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).

Revenue maximization involves the development of strategies to identify and claim reimbursement from the Federal Government and other sources for the broadest scope of eligible services and clients. Our Division prepares and updates the County’s Revenue Maximization Plan. Due to often conflicting federal, state, and local policies; the complex and delicate financial relationships required; and legal liability issues, implementation of revenue maximization initiatives require detailed analysis and careful planning. Revenue maximization is by no means a quick fix for diminished local revenue. However, successful implementation of revenue maximization strategies will, in the long term, improve our ability to address unmet local needs.
