Miami N.I.C.E.
(Network for Integration, Compassion & Empowerment)
Miami N.I.C.E. is a collaborative initiative designed to maximize the social impact of grassroots faith-based and community organizations (FBCOs) in Miami-Dade County that provide services to those most in need.
Miami N.I.C.E. is funded with a three-year federal grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration of Children and Families, with a local match provided by City of Miami Office of the Mayor, Miami-Dade County, and The Children's Trust.
Objectives are to address challenges to FBCO sustainability and effectiveness; and enhance the ability of FBCOs to collaborate.
Through Miami N.I.C.E., seven local partners collaborate to offer:
-
Free training that is open to all FBCOs in Miami-Dade County
-
Sub-award grants ($5,000 to $20,000) to fund capacity projects for approximately 20 FBCOs selected through an annual, competitive process
-
One-on-one technical assistance to sub-award grantees
-
Assistance is directed at strengthening FBCO practices in the areas of leadership, program development, community engagement, fund development, and organizational development.
