- Submit appropriate fee by check or money order, made payable to Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners, determined by the fee schedule, which includes the fee established by the State of Florida.

- Emergency repair permits can be applied for in emergency situations, in the following manner. During normal working hours, call our office at 305.375.1577. After hours, notify the inspector on duty via pager, 305.276.6546, or call our office and leave a voice mail at 305.375.1577 explaining the nature of the emergency. Submit a permit application and letter or note explaining the details of the emergency, via fax to 305.372.6367. (If it isn’t an emergency enough for you to interrupt your evening or weekend sufficiently to perform this perfunctory item, it isn’t a true emergency. We will generally not consider requests for emergency repair permits unless it is a hospital, or service elevator in a nursing home, or a single unit serving any building.) Proceed with the work. At the beginning of the very next available work day, personally deliver the application, with the fees for repair and the expedite process. After the work is completed our inspectors must perform an inspection as required by law, and upon a successful inspection, the unit can be restored to operation. We will accept third party inspections for non-emergency repairs.
