(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- CBCF-WOW Counseling Agency of the Year Award – The Miami-Dade Affordable Housing Foundation, Inc. won the 2007 Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF-WOW) Housing Counseling Agency of the Year Award.  

Homebuyer Education Workshops begin February 2008:Credit is the biggest obstacle to qualifying for a mortgage. Miami-Dade Affordable Housing Foundation, Inc. offers classes for first-time homebuyers in North and South Dade. The workshops require a $50.00 registration fee which is payable in advance. The workshop consists of two sessions which cover the 8-hour curriculum for first-time homebuyers. Classes are open to the public and are taught by loan officers, Realtors, home inspectors, appraisers, and professional credit counselors. Workshop subjects include budgeting, credit issues, the loan process, shopping for a home, homeowners insurance, home inspections and appraisals. Participants must attend both classes to earn a Certificate of Training voucher.  .  2008 Event Schedule Workshop    Flyer      Registration form

"Get The Facts" Workshop – A 60-minute Introduction to Homeownership sponsored by Freddie Mac. You can now Educate your organization and "Dispel the Myths" about buying a home. Call 305-373-9750 to set-up training at your next event.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for Lenders and Housing Professionals: Sponsor our North or South Dade Homebuyer Workshops. You will be able to present your specialty topic and the services you provide to first-time homebuyers. The sponsorship fee will cover materials, postage, workbook printing, and refreshments.
