This year, Thanksgiving takes place on Thursday, Nov. 24. Before you celebrate Turkey Day with your loved ones, read up on activities and resources to ensure that your Thanksgiving is the best ever.

  • Baptist Health's Turkey Day Run Miami on Nov. 24
    Warm up your Thanksgiving appetite at Tropical Park by joining runners, joggers and walkers on the 5k or 10k run. Register before race day for a discount.
  • Winternational Thanksgiving Day Parade on TBD
    Celebrate with the city of North Miami and listen to harmonious music from marching bands, watch dance groups, and enjoy the professional and community floats.
  • Holiday tree lighting at Bayfront Park on Nov. 27
    Get into the holiday season at the lighting of the 50-foot-tall Christmas tree, with seasonal music and food trucks to enjoy.
  • PetSmart adoptions in Dadeland on Nov. 27-28
    Connect, adopt, and fall in love with a shelter pet. Adoption fees are waived for all dogs and cats.
  • Little Rangers-Crandon Park EcoClub on Nov. 28
    Explore nature through hands-on learning about conservation by helping to keep our beaches clean. Then learn about native species and learn to identify different species by using binoculars and your shorebird guide. For children ages 6-14.
  • Main Street Festival of Lights on Nov. 28
    Join the family tradition in Miami Lakes and get to see the Christmas tree lighting ceremony taking place in Main Street. And adopt a pet during the event!
  • PetSmart Adoptions in Coral Gables on Nov. 28-29
    Fall in love with a shelter pet and give them a home. Adoption fees are waived for all dogs and cats.
  • Sea Kayak & Snorkel Adventure on Nov. 28-29
    Kayak on the beautiful shallow waters of Key Biscayne and explore the protected areas of the Bear Cut Preserve where land meets the sea. Paddle to a 6,000-year-old fossil reef and end up snorkeling and observing sea animals. 
  • Stiltsville, Key Biscayne and Cape Florida Lighthouse Boat Tour on Nov. 29
    Take a boat ride with historian Dr. Paul George of HistoryMiami to learn how Stiltsville was transformed into a vivacious community.
