Honor our military personnel this Veterans Day

This Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, join Miami-Dade County in honoring the sacrifices of our military personnel.

Miami-Dade County offices will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 11.


  • Miami Military Museum pre-Veterans Day festival on Nov. 8
    The 13th Army Band, "Florida's Own," will be performing two concerts at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The festival includes rock wall-climbing, face-painting, ceremonies, and historical exhibits. This event is free and open to the public.
  • Town of Miami Lakes Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 8
    The 36th Annual Veterans Day Parade will honor active and retired military members. The event will start at 10 a.m. Parade route starts from Bull Run Road and Ludlam Road, and ending in Town Hall.
  • Miami Beach Annual Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 11 
    The annual parade in Miami Beach will take place along Washington Avenue from 17 to 11 streets beginning at 11 a.m. The parade will include an exciting line up of floats, veteran marching bands and a high-flying all veterans parachute team.
  • Town of Surfside Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 11
    The ceremony will be held at Veterans Park at 10 a.m. The event will include the Presentation of Colors, local Scout Troops, and guest speakers.
  • North Miami Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 11
    In honor of all who have served, North Miami will have its annual ceremony in the North Miami Veterans Memorial at Griffing Park. The event starts at 10 a.m.
  • North Miami Beach Veterans Day Service on Nov. 11
    The annual Veterans Day Service will pay tribute to veterans and those who continue to preserve our freedom. The event will take place at the All Wars Memorial Park in the Harry Cohen Complex at 10 a.m.
  • Village of Pinecrest Veterans Day Commemoration on Nov. 11
    The Village Council will honor veterans with a special program. The event includes Pinecrest Police Department Honor Guard, presentations, music and a picnic lunch. The event is open to the public and starts at 11 a.m.
  • Veterans at BattleFrog Obstacle Race Series on Nov. 21
    Take off running through lakes, swamps, flats and single track rails as a special series celebrating and honoring our heroes and veterans. BattleFrog race takes place at Amelia Earhart Park starting at 7:30 a.m.

Pet care discounts, adoption deals for veterans

In honor of Veterans Day, military veterans residing in Miami-Dade County can obtain pet care vaccination packages at no cost for their companion cats and dogs from Nov. 9 through Nov. 13. Also, veterans that adopt a pet as part of the Pets are Priceless promotion will also have the $27 license fee waived.
