The Trust has developed and implemented Standards of Care that are designed to set minimum standards of housing and service delivery for homeless persons. This ensures the health, safety and well-being of homeless persons and provides ease of entry into the system. This also provides for higher coordination among the service provider community. All provider agencies under contract with Trust must comply with these standards of care.
These Standards of Care apply to all Trust-funded providers who provide housing and/or services directly to homeless individuals and/or families located in Miami-Dade County. Trust-funded providers are to establish policies and procedures that reflect and incorporate these Standards of Care, as may apply to the type/category of care provided. It is desired that other providers who provide housing and/or services directly to homeless individuals and families, but who are not funded by the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust, will consider and adopt these Standards of Care.
These Standards of Care have been adopted by the Board of the Miami- Dade County Homeless Trust, a Miami-Dade County entity created by Dade County Ordinance No. 0-94-66. It is the responsibility of the staff of the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust to ensure that these Standards of Care are followed by Trust-funded providers.
