The Family Self-Sufficiency Program is designed to assist Miami-Dade Housing Agency's Section 8 and public housing residents reach and maintain economic independence through job training, education, and employment. Staff will assist residents in identifying their goals and help them to make short- and long-range plans to reach their goals.
Participants enter into a five-year contracts based on their goals which may be extended or terminated by either the participant or Miami-Dade Housing Agency on a case-by-case basis.

Eligibility
The program is open to the head of household as well as any member of the household who is 18 years of age and over in the Public Housing or Section 8 program. If the head of the household is disabled, another family member can participate and become head of household in the Public Housing or Section 8 program.
