Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Rental Program

This federally funded housing rental program provides assistance to very low-income individual and families in privately-owned, rehabilitated, multifamily buildings. There are approximately 2,097 units in 48 locations in the Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Program. Assistance is tied to the unit, not to the tenant.

New admissions must be very low-income (equal to or below 50 percent of the area median income). Participants are selected from Miami-Dade Public Housing and Community Development's waiting list.

Tenants pay approximately 30 percent of their income for rent.
