This federally-funded, housing rental program provides assistance to very low-income individual and families in privately-owned, rehabilitated, multifamily buildings. There are approximately 2,508 units in 48 locations in the Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Program. Assistance is tied to the unit, not to the tenant. New admissions must be very low-income (equal to or below 50% of the area median income). Participants are selected from the Miami-Dade Housing Agency's waiting list. Tenants pay approximately 30% of their income for rent. For details on income requirements, check the income limits table.
Eligibility
In order to qualify for this program, applicants will need to undergo a housing eligibility interview. To assist with income verification and with background checks, applicants will need to provide documentation at their interview.
